Damascus, SANA – Syria participates in the competition of World Robot Olympiad (WRO) in the Russian city of Sochi between the 21st and 23rd of the current month with two teams.
The teams participating in the WRO – each contains three members – are United Power Team from the Syrian Computer Society, and Challenger 9/6/3 team from the Higher Institute of Applied Science and Technology.
Members of the Robotic Club in the Syrian Computer Society Mohammad Wassim Saad and Shiraz al-Shobasi will take part in arbitration in the international competition.
The World Robot Olympiad is a global robotics competition for young people. It was first held in 2004 in Singapore, it now attracts 1000 participants from 37 countries.
WRO aims at bringing together young robotics scientists from all over the world to develop their creativity, design and problem-solving skills through challenging and educational robot competitions and activities.
