Aleppo, SANA-Heavy clashes continued in Ayn al-Arab city between the locals and terrorists of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
Local sources clarified that the situation on the ground had changed after the locals defending the city progressed 200 meters on both eastern and southern axes.
The sources affirmed that the clashes have escalated in the last few hours, coinciding with bombardment from the People’s Protection Units on the terrorist organization’s positions in the city.
The city of Ayn al-Arabhas been witnessing heavy clashes since mid-September between the locals of Ayn al-Arab and ISIS terrorists who tried to control the city, inflicting heavy losses upon them.
Agence France-Presse (AFP) news agency said that the US and its allies launched at least 7 airstrikes against positions of ISIS inside Ayn al-Arab city and its surroundings. Sounds of explosions could be heard 20km away from the city.
