Vienna, SANA- Syria on Friday affirmed its commitment to enhancing the implementation of legal instruments related to the work of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
That came when Syria’s Permanent Representative to International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna Bassam al-Sabbagh deposited with the IAEA Director-General Rafael Grossi the instrument of ratification of Syrian government of the Convention on the physical protection of nuclear material for 1979 and its amendment for 2005 in the presence of Director General of the Syrian Atomic Energy Commission Dr. Ibrahim Othman.
Sabbagh also discussed means to enhance technical cooperation between Syria and IAEA, reiterating Syria’s commitment to cooperate with the agency and to fulfill its obligations under international agreements and joint programs.
