New York, SANA- Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Gholamhossein Dehghani reaffirmed the necessity of the withdrawal of the US and other foreign troops which are deployed illegitimately from the Syrian territories.
Dehghani’s remarks came during a speech during a session of the Security Council on Syria on Monday.
He considered that the agreement on forming the constitutional committee is a positive step towards ending the crisis in Syria through a political process led by the Syrians themselves without any foreign interference and without imposing any timetables on its work.
Dehghani noted that Syria have been able to reach the forming of the constitutional committee through the close coordination with Russia and Iran.
He affirmed Iran’s continued support to the Syrian people and to the work of the constitutional committee.
“In a time when all required aid should be provided in framework of supporting the work of the constitutional committee, all forms of exerting foreign pressure or imposing certain timetables by any side even if it is the UN should be prevented,” Dehghani said.
