Damascus, SANA- The 15th edition of Food Processing and Packaging Exhibition/ Food Expo 2019/ started activities on Saturday at Damascus Fairgrounds with the participation of 75 major national food companies, in addition to companies from Lebanon, Iran and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and it will last till July 9.
Industry Minister Mohammad Maan Jazba, during the opening of the expo, underlined the importance of the event in promoting and marketing the products of the national food industries which continued production despite of all the difficult circumstances which they have passed through.
Minister Jazba added that the national food companies have been able to preserve the high quality and diversity of their products despite of all challenges, referring to the support provided by the government to the industrial sector.
Director-General of the Food Industries General Establishment Rim Halla, for her part, shed light on the significance of the participation of the establishment and its affiliated companies in the expo to introduce the products of the Syrian public food sector which enjoys high standards with lower prices.
Head of Damascus Chamber of Commerce Amer Kharboutli said that the chambers of industry and commerce support such initiatives and expos which work on promoting national products.
Director-General of Delta Group for Economy and Business, which is organizing the expo, Ghiath Shamm’a noted that the expo has been organized annually from 15 years and it constitutes a main supporter of the national food industries and the requirements of their production
Al-Shamm’a hailed the great support provided by the government for the industrial sector.
