Beijing, SANA- The Conference on Dialogue of Asian Civilizations kicked off on Wednesday in Beijing, capital of China with participation of 48 countries, including Syria.
The conference aims to provide a platform for advancing the achievements of Asian and global civilizations.
It also seeks to encourage mutual learning among countries and civilizations to make an advance and a development of human civilization and build a shared future.
Assistant Culture Minister, and the head of the Syrian delegation to the conference, Tawfiq al-Imam affirmed in a press statement the deep-rooted historic relations binding Syria and China , pointing out to the importance of participating in the conference to build bridges of communication among peoples, exchange knowledge and experience, as well as the openness to other cultures.
The conference will run till May 22.
