Damascus, SANA-Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Dr. Fayssal Mikdad said counter-terrorism and enhancing local reconciliations are the Syrian government’s key goals in the current stage.
“The entire world is left with two choices: either to back the Syrian government against terrorism, or support terrorist organizations such as ISIS and al-Nusra Front,” Mikdad said to a delegation from Fearab Venezuela, led by Adel a-Sughayar.
Fearab Venezuela is a Venezuelan institution dedicated to coordinating Arab-Venezuelan cooperation and the work of joint societies and organizations.
Mikdad pointed out that those whom the West brands “moderate opposition” are terrorist organizations that took up arms, killed the Syrian people and destroyed Syria’s institutions.
Venezuela’s gaining a seat at the UN Security Council is a victory for Syria and all the anti-imperialist and anti-Zionist states, Mikdad added.
Al- Sughayar, for his part, said the visit is meant to show solidarity with the Syrian people against terrorism and foreign intervention in Syria’s domestic affairs.
President Bashar al-Assad, under whose leadership Syria has stood up to a fierce campaign orchestrated by major powers for fragmenting Syria, has become an international icon of steadfastness and defending the just causes of peoples.
