Canberra, SANA – Maronite Patriarch Mar Bechara Boutros al-Rahi stressed that the terrorist acts perpetrated by some groups in the name of Islam have nothing to do with Islam and Muslims, but they are basically based on international and regional interests.
In a speech he delivered during a tour in Australia, al-Rahi considered that what is going on in the world, particularly in the Middle East has nothing to do with morals or humanity, adding that “we know that those who commit terrorist acts are not only Muslims, yet the strategy of the terrorist organizations aims at distorting the image of Islam, so the Christians should be the first to help the Muslims in confronting what Islam is exposed to by those terrorists.
The Patriarch hailed the Christian-Muslim coexistence in the region, which has helped in building common civilization and culture in the region.
