Trump’s hostile statements on occupied Golan spark worldwide condemnations  

Capitals, SANA- Canadian Foreign Ministry of Monday expressed rejection of US President Donald Trump’s recognition of annexing occupied Syrian Golan to the Israeli occupation entity.

In a statement quoted by the Associated Press, the Canadian Foreign Ministry said ” In compliance with the rules of international law, Canada insists on its rejection to recognize Israeli’s permanent control over the Golan,” affirming the firmness of the Canadian stance towards that issue.

The statement affirmed that “annexing lands by means of force is prohibited according to the international law.”

Meanwhile, the Yemeni Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf Abdullah asserted that the decision of President Trump’s regarding the occupied Syrian Golan constitutes a flagrant violation of the international law.

In a statement to Saba News Agency, Abdullah said that the US decision violates the Security Council’s resolution no. 497 for the year 1981 which considered the annexation law as null and void.

He affirmed that Yemen stands by Syria in its right to defend its occupied lands.

In a relevant context, the Iraqi Foreign Ministry said that Trump’s decision to recognize the annexation of the occupied Syrian Golan to the Zionist occupation entity gives legitimacy to the occupation and contradicts with the international law.

The Ministry’s Spokesman Ahmad al-Sahhaf said in a statement that “Iraq supports the international legitimacy resolutions which stipulate for ending the occupation.”
