Havana, SANA- Chairman of the Cuban Journalists Union Ricardo Ronquillo Bello expressed appreciation of the Syrian people’s legendary steadfastness over the past eight years in defending the sovereignty and independence of their homeland and their triumph over the conspiracies hatched by the U.S. against Syria.
Meeting Syria’s Ambassador to Cuba Dr. Idris Mayya at the headquarters of the Union in Havana, Bello indicated that the Cuban media outlets are closely watching the developments of the situations in Syria.
He affirmed that the Cuban mass media has played a significant role in exposing the hostile media campaign launched against Syria.
Bello welcomed the enhancement of relations with the Syrian Journalists Union, expressing readiness to discuss all ways to achieve that goal.
Ambassador Mayya, for his part, underlined the importance of boosting cooperation and coordination between the Syrian and Cuban unions of journalists, particularly in light of the current circumstances in which the two countries are facing a fierce media campaign by hostile mass media.
Mayya indicated that the escalation of the hostile campaign launched by the global imperialism entails more cooperation and integration, particularly in the domain of media which plays a basic role in facing and foiling that campaign.
