Seven children killed in house fire in al-Amara area, Damascus

Damascus, SANA- Seven siblings died after a fire broke out last night in their house in al-Amara area in Damascus.

A source at Damascus Police Command said that the children who died in the incident aged between 3 and 13 years old and their bodies were transported to al-Mujtahid Hospital in Damascus.

The source added that after receiving information on the eruption of fire, Damascus Fire Brigade immediately headed for the site and extinguished the fire which erupted in the fourth floor of the building and the cause of the fire wasn’t exactly determined.

A source at the Civil Defense said that the cause of the fire is thought to be an electrical heater which led to burning all the house completely.

Prime Minister Imad Khamis inspected the site and he was briefed on the details of the tragic incident and the material damages it caused to the site.

Khamis called upon the bodies concerned to conduct a precise probe into the causes of the incident to prevent such tragic incidents in the future.
