Syria participates in 2nd World Parliamentary Forum on Sustainable Development in Indonesia

Bali/ Indonesia-SANA- A delegation from the People’s Assembly, headed by Secretary Khaled al-Aboud is participating in the activities of the Second World Parliamentary Forum on Sustainable Development which kicked off in the Indonesian city of Bali on Wednesday.

Delivering the speech of the Syrian Arab Republic, al-Aboud affirmed the importance of sustainable development, calling for the humanitarian aspect to remain a major factor in development, preventing external interference in the nations’ affairs, and putting emphasis on the non -monopolization of wealth by the major states.

“The Syrian Constitution includes several items related to the issues of relief, sustainable development, medicine, and free education for all the citizens,” MP. Samir Hajjar said during a session on Education & Technology for Green Industry.

He pointed out to the damage caused to the infrastructure in Syria by terrorism.

The two-day forum will discuss a number of issues, the most important of which are the countries’ responsibility for energy consumption, sustainable communities, and the quality of education, technology and green industry.
