Moscow, SANA- A number of Russian Islamic and Christian figures asserted that the external intervention in Syria’s domestic affairs hinders reach a political settlement to the crisis in Syria, expressing confidence the Syrians are able to resolve the crisis in case this intervention stops.
The clergymen, who visited Syria lately, affirmed at a press conference that they are determined to continue cooperation with Syria to prevail peace, criticizing the western continued baseless accusations against the Syrian government of using chemical weapons.
Head of Moscow Patriarchate department for external church relations Stephan Igumenovf told SANA that “Our meetings with formal and religious authorities in Syria, whether Islamic or Christian, strengthened our trust that national dialogue process among the Syrians would be crowned with success.”
For his part, Sheik Eldar Ziganshin, a mosque Imam in Tyumen region in Siberia, said that the untrue accusations against Syria of using toxic chemical weapons comes within the misleading and false campaign about the situation in the country.
