Decorations of contrast colors inside portraits represent artist Ahmed’s own touch

Damascus, SANA- The artistic style of artist Salam Ahmed is formed in a simplified way of painting portraiture using an overlap of the decoration in explicit colors in the background of the painting.

Through her style, Ahmed has expressed her ideas in a way that is easier for the audience to receive without the need for a deep analysis to understand the content of the painting.

“My painting in style and content reflects my psychological state, where I mix a brightly colored palette with dark colors to achieve a balanced visual state,” al-Ahmed  told SANA Culture Bulletin.

Explaining the impact of the war on Syria in the plastic art, the artist said “In light of the war on Syria, the plastic art has been significantly affected. The artistic production has declined throughout the first years of the war, but now we can see an increase in the number of collective and individual art exhibitions.”

Painter al-Ahmed has participated in 36 group exhibitions as she has received several certificates of appreciation, and she has also contributed to the mural of the “Peace Road” in the Faculty of Medicine with the Development Peace Team and in the mural of “Watan Sharaf Ekhlas” with the Mada Cultural Group.
