Moscow, SANA- Russian Defense Ministry announced Tuesday that a military police battalion arrived in Dagestan after fulfilling tasks in Syria.
A military police battalion consisted of 200 military police personnel of the Southern Military District, which fulfilled tasks in Syria, has been taken to Dagestan’s capital of Makhachkala by two cargo aircraft, the Defense Ministry said .
The Ministry added that since May 2017, the battalion’s personnel had successfully fulfilled tasks on controlling the situation in the de-escalation zones, ensuring security of civilians, extending aid during humanitarian efforts and escorting humanitarian convoys to the areas affected by terrorism.
Earlier, Russian Defense Minister announced start of returning part of the Russian forces came to Syria in December 2015 to participate in the war against terrorism in the country upon the demand of the Syrian Arab Republic for supporting the Syrian Arab Army in its operations against the terrorist organizations.
