Homs, SANA – Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and All East John X Yazigi said that the Syrian people will remain “one family” despite the difficult circumstances their country is currently going through, expressing hope that security and peace will prevail in Syria again.
Patriarch Yazigi’s remarks came during a meeting with a hundred of army martyrs’ families that marked the end of a visit he paid to Wadi al-Nadara in the countryside of the central province of Homs where he spent several days.
During the meeting, Patriarch Yazigi expressed the Patriarchate’s support for all the Christians and Muslims who are suffering under the current tough circumstances caused by the terrorist war still raging in Syria since 2011.
His Beatitude hailed the sacrifices of the “martyrs, who sacrificed themselves to defend our lives.”
Patriarch Yazigi started his visit to Wadi al-Nadara on August 9, where he carried out an array of activities, including holding prays and masses at various churches and monasteries, in addition to inaugurating the Shrine of St. John the Baptist in a church that carries the name of the Saint and laying the cornerstone for polyclinics in Wadi al-Nadara.
