Shanghai, SANA- Presidential Political and Media Advisor, Bouthaina Shaaban, on Sunday met with Deputy Director-General of the Shanghai Municipal Foreign Affairs Office, Liu Guangyong, in the framework of her current visit to China upon the invitation by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
Guangyong presented a briefing on the huge progress which Shanghai has witnessed over the last few years, particularly in the economic and technological domains and the aspired-for strategic vision by the city officials to make it better internationally by the year 2040.
For her part, Shaaban talked about the problems facing the Syrian businessmen in China, calling for providing the necessary facilitations related to granting entry visas to them.
The Presidential Advisor pointed out to the difficulties facing trade exchange between the two countries due to the coercive unilateral economic measures imposed on Syria, suggesting to find solutions to those difficulties similar to that China is presenting to other countries.
The two sides reviewed the political situation in the region, as Shaaban confirmed that the crisis in Syria helped uncovering the truth of the western stance which seeks to plunder the countries’ resources and destroy their civilization and archeological landmarks through igniting wars in them to achieve its political goals.
The resilience of the Syrian people and army, backed by their allies, foiled the western schemes and also founded for the establishment of a new strong alliance which stands in the face of the occupation, hegemony and terrorism, Shaaban said.
During her current visit to China, Shaaban met with Chinese Foreign Minister and Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chen Xiaodong, as talks during the two meetings dealt with the necessity of enhancing bilateral relations between the two countries in all domains and China’s participation in the reconstruction process in Syria.
