Levant Islamic Scholars Union condemns terrorist attack in Sinai, Egypt

Damascus, SANA – The Levant Islamic Scholars Union on Saturday condemned the horrific massacre perpetrated by terrorist groups against worshippers in a mosque in Sinai, Egypt, which resulted in up to 200 martyrs and injured hundreds of innocent Egyptian citizens.

In a statement, the Union called for the importance of exerting all states’ efforts for eradicating terrorism, reminding of the brutal crime committed in al-Iman Mosque in Damascus in 2013, where Imam Mohammad Said Ramadan al-Bouti was martyred in addition to more than 50 other martyrs “upon a fatwa given by one of terror figures.”

“The international sides supporting those terrorist organizations should realize that they will be attacked by terrorism in the end and the human conscience will not forgive these brutal crimes,” the statement added.
