Sharjah, SANA- Pavilion of the Syrian Arab Republic at Sharjah International Book Fair witnessed large turnout by the Fair’s visitors and journalists, according to the chairman of the Syrian Publishers Union Haitham Hafez.
Hafez told SANA Saturday that a hundred publishing houses and institutions took part in the Fair, asserting that many titles and subjects were displayed in the pavilion particularly that deal with the years of the war on Syria.
On the sidelines of the Fair, the Syrian Publishers’ Union met the Secretary General of Arab Children Book Publisher Forum Aisha al-Maghawer.
Discussions focused on activating cooperation with the Syrian publishers and enhancing the vision on a distinguished Arab production for children, in addition to setting suitable mechanisms and criteria for developing the child book in the Arab world.
The 35 session of 11-day Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF), organized by Sharjah Book Authority (SBA), began on Wednesday at Expo Centre Sharjah, featuring 1.5 million books, 1,650 publishers from 60 countries.
