Deir Ezzor, SANA- A government delegation that comprises the Ministers of Health, Electricity and Water resources paid a visit on Monday to Deir Ezzor to inspect the situation of services there and follow up the daily procedures, meet the citizens’ needs and the maintenance works of infrastructure which was damaged by ISIS terrorists’ crimes in the province.
Health Minister Nizar Yazigi said during a meeting held in the governorate building that the Ministry will do its best to provide Deir Ezzor needs of medical cadres, medicines and ambulances.
The minister visited the medical complex at al-Assad hospital and inspected the works at the hospitals of al-Assad, Euphrates, Children and Obstetrics as well as the volume of damage in the hospital, affirming that the Ministry supported the city during the siege period as much as possible with medicine, equipment and vaccines.
In turn, Electricity Minister Mohammad Zuhair Kharboutli pointed out that work is underway to restore the electricity to the province despite the huge damage that affected power system at the hands of terrorists, estimating the losses at 36 billion SYP.
“The Ministry has signed contracts with Iranian companies to provide the province with gas generating units and we have agreed with a Russian company to build a power generating station in Deir Ezzor with a total capacity of 500 MW that values Euro 600 million,” the Minister said.
For his part, Water Resources Minister Nabil al-Hassan said that the water system in Deir Ezzor has survived throughout the siege period although in the least level.
