Damascus, SANA – The Armenian Ambassador in Damascus, Arshak Poladian,
urged the international community to fight terrorism in Syria, describing as “strong and historical” the Syrian-Armenian relation throughout the years.
Poladian’s remarks came during a reception ceremony held at al-Sham Hotel in Damascus commemorating Armenia’s Independence Day and the 25th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Syria and Armenia.
He added that his country has welcomed and always welcomes any political initiative to restore security and stability in Syria as well as any effort to alleviate the suffering of its people
through sending humanitarian aid, reiterating that there is no alternative to dialogue and political settlement to solve the crisis.
Assistant Foreign and Expatriates Minister Ayman Sousan, for his part, stressed that the Syrian army and people will continue to fight until achieving victory over terrorism and cleanse the Syrian territories of all terrorists and mercenaries.
He extended Syria’s appreciation to the Armenian people, government
and leadership for their attitudes and support against the terrorist war waged on the country, adding that Syria is looking forward to further enhance cooperation with Armenia in all sectors.
