Damascus, SANA- Means of developing economic and trade relations as well as possible investment projects between Syria and Russia were the focus of talks between Prime Minister Imad Khamis and the Russian governmental delegation headed by Deputy Minister of Energy Kirill Molodtsov.
The talks dealt with current preparation for the upcoming meeting of the Syrian-Russian joint commission in the next few days and enhancement of bilateral cooperation in different sectors including transport, oil, energy, water resources and electricity which will positively reflect on the recovery of the Syrian economy.
Premier Khamis stressed the Syrian government’s unremitting efforts to provide appropriate conditions to further boost cooperation with the friendly countries, especially Russia which has spared no effort to strengthen the steadfastness of the Syrian people in the face of terrorism.
He referred to the Russian companies’ key role in the reconstruction stage, adding that the economic development which Syria is witnessing came as a result of the Syrian army’s achievements and victories on the ground.
Khamis conveyed the Syrian people’s appreciation for the friendly states which provided support to Syria during war.
For his part, Molodtsov highlighted Russia’s interest in making investment projects and facilitations provided by the Syrian government in order to bolster economic a d trade relations, hoping cooperation would extend to include services, social and cultural sectors.
