Moscow, SANA – Russian Defense Ministry stressed that the airstrikes against terrorist organizations’ sites in Syria are based on accurate information, refuting reports about targeting residential neighborhoods in Idleb province.
Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov said that over the past 24 hours, the Russian jets have struck 10 terrorist targets in Idleb province following reconnaissance sorties of drones and additional information from different channels.”
Konashenkov added that the” targets included underground bases of terrorists, located far from residential neighborhoods, field ammunition depots, armored vehicles, multiple launch rocket systems and sweatshops for loading guns on cars.”
The military officer noted that the Russian warplanes did not target residential areas in Idleb, adding “statements of the Observatory citing unnamed ‘witnesses’ and ‘volunteers’ are unsubstantiated as usual and serve as ‘information cover-up’ for actions of Jabhat al Nusra and affiliated terrorist groups.
