Damascus Countryside, SANA – 254 gunmen from Madaya town in Damascus Countryside turned themselves in to the authorities on Saturday.
A source at the province’s Police Command told SANA that the process was carried out in cooperation with national reconciliation committees, adding that the files of the gunmen were settled after they pledge not to commit any act that could undermine the security of the homeland.
Earlier on Friday, 180 gunmen from Wadi Barada turned themselves in and handed over their weapons to the authorities. The total number of wanted persons who turned themselves in to authorities reached 801 in August alone.
