Moscow, SANA – The Russian Defense Ministry said that the deployment of any type of weaponry by foreign troops on Syrian territory must be agreed upon with the Syrian government.
The Ministry noted, in a statement published on its website, that Moscow is closely monitoring the situation on the border between Syria and Jordan as Washington has moved its new truck-mounted HIMARS rocket launcher systems from Jordan to its base in al-Tanf, 18 km away from the Jordanian borders.
The statement indicated that operational range of the HIMARS rocket launchers does not allow them to be used against the ISIS terrorists in Raqqa, wondering about the U.S. real objectives in Syria.
The Ministry added that the US might launch attacks against the Syrian Arab army using those systems, recalling to the minds the US-led coalition airstrikes against the Syrian forces which fight the ISIS near the Jordanian borders.
