Cairo, SANA – Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry stressed the need to unify regional and international efforts to solve the crisis in Syria.
Egyptian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Ahmed Abu Zeid said that Shoukry discussed with the UN Special Envoy for Syria, Staffan de Mistura, the developments in Syria and the efforts to reach a political solution to the crisis in it.
Shoukry stressed Egypt’s keenness on making the mission of de Mistura a success, reiterating his country’s firm attitude which stresses the need to preserve Syria’s territorial integrity and put an end to the suffering of the Syrian people through unifying the regional and international efforts to reach a practical and acceptable solution.
In turn, de Mistura reviewed the results of talks with regional and international forces concerned in the Syrian issue and his evaluation of the rounds of the Syrian talks in Geneva, stressing the continuity of coordination and consultation with Egypt regarding the crisis in Syria.
